BasinCheck Launches Mobile Safety Documentation Platform for Oil and Gas Contractors

Sep 18, 2026

-- BasinCheck, a safety documentation software provider, has released a mobile-first platform designed for oil and gas contractors and industrial field teams that require OSHA recordkeeping workflows. The system replaces paper checklists and spreadsheet-based tracking with digital audits, corrective action management, and incident documentation accessible from mobile devices.

The platform allows field crews to complete safety inspections on phones, with failed checklist items automatically generating assigned corrective actions. Safety managers can track what occurred, who is responsible for follow-up, and whether issues have been resolved through a centralized dashboard. The system includes offline functionality for remote work sites without cellular service.

BasinCheck offers custom templates for audits, job safety analyses, and inspections, along with OSHA 300 and 300A log generation from manager-confirmed incident records. The platform includes photo documentation, PDF export capabilities, and a full audit trail with timestamps and user attribution. All company plans include unlimited users, with pricing based on monthly field record volume rather than per-seat licensing.

"I started BasinCheck because small and mid-size contractors needed serious safety documentation tools, but everything available was either built for enterprise or was just glorified spreadsheet software," said Jacob Szyszka, founder and CEO of BasinCheck.

The company reports 1,205 safety records completed through its platform, including inspections, audits, job safety analyses, toolbox talks, and incident reports. According to BasinCheck, 34 corrective actions have been closed and documented through the system, with active field teams operating across five U.S. states.

Primary users include U.S. onshore oil and gas contractors, typically with 20 to 75 employees, as well as construction, manufacturing, and water-well service companies. The platform has received a 5.0 rating on Capterra from three public reviews.

Colton, a safety manager who reviewed the software on Capterra in August 2026, stated, "Instead of trying to keep up with paper forms, spreadsheets, texts, and random folders, we can connect employees, crews, equipment, rigs, and locations directly to the safety records that matter."

BasinCheck offers three pricing tiers: Starter at $149 per month for 50 monthly records, Standard at $299 per month for 150 records, and Pro at $599 per month for unlimited records. A seven-day trial is available. The platform aligns with standards from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, API Recommended Practice 75, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, and the American Society of Safety Professionals.
